IMO, it’s already insane to upload private pictures there without encrypting them first.

In a time when attention is considered a currency, why are we sharing stuff like this???

Yes, but Google is probably happy to host their whole datacenter infrastructure on Linux and won’t have to buy expensive Windows server licenses and wants to keep it this way.

We kind of need the Linux Foundation or Fairphone or similar to fork android or create a solid base for an alternative. Otherwise, we are screwed.

🤏 small planet, hihi 🤏
Open AI probably already has it in its training data.
It could have been a thesis.md

Belarus, Hungary and Turkey… I’m sorry for the people who were not borne in a country next to those.

Me neither. Unfortunately not open source…

WestNordOst seems to be the user name of the main developer.
How exactly is the data used, does it go back to openstreetmaps?
I can give you one example. If you go to a bench and answer the question “Is it still there” with “yes”, the bench object tracked by OpenStreetMaps will get a tag that is similar to “last-checked-for-existance: 03/16/2025”. If you answer “no”, it might get removed from the OSM database. So, yes, it results in changes in the OpenStreetMap database.
Tethered to commercial Jawg.io for map tiles
Not sure, what that means, sorry.
I have also linked the FAQ (which are by the way hosted by OpenStreetMap) ->https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/StreetComplete/FAQ#How_does_the_app_handle_uploads?

I, personally, am below rank 5,000 with over 400 contributions.

Great. And using CURL on the phone to access the list, I guess…

I think, this is looking very good. It has an Android app, which looks nice, it also allows adding “non-kitchen related stuff” (e.g. toilet paper) to the shopping list.

Because of tariffs suddenly disapearing, there could actually be deflation when Trump is gone…

It’s not only “free money”.
It’s often money that needs to be paid back with interest. Development aid can be used to earn money.
Many countries work together on a metro project in Peru. The money comes back with interest. The countries participating also like to see that their companies work on the project and earn money, too.
China probably clapped after the Orange One ended many of those prjects. Those countries will depend on China instead of the USA, which is bad for the USA once again.

No. I’m doing the opposite.
I’m currently playing PS4 games I have never played before.
You get them on ebay for like $10.
Can’t wait to play PS5 games in 5 years… 🙃

Ah, a picture of the internet pipes…

I have to suffer, so the other people should do that, too.
DNA is AND when you reverse it.
What a stupid suggestion…
Let’s instead move the earth closer to the sun and boil the oceans directly…
