Banana bread is done, scalloped potatoes in the oven now.

Scalloped potatoes:

3 loaves of bread, white, medium wheat, dark wheat.

(both with cranberries and currants)

Plain dark wheat by request. 😅
Sweet potatoes have 20 min. left.

And so it begins… home made cranberry sauce:
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1/4 teaspoon table salt
1 tablespoon orange zest
2 tablespoons Grand Marnier
1 12 ounce bag fresh cranberries, washed
Bring the sugar, water, salt, and orange zest to a boil over high heat.
Add the cranberries and return to a boil, then drop the heat to medium.
Simmer for 5 minutes, until 2/3rds or so of the berries have popped. Remove from heat and stir in the Grand Marnier.
Cool to room temp and refrigerate.

Glad I did a double batch because once it all cooked down it just about filled the bowl I had in mind.

Looks like a standard bracket, it even has the slots ready to go!
+1 for Silpat!
I did salt and ground cumin on a ham sandwich, it was decent!
Yesterday I re-learned that Romans didn’t use salt and pepper, they used salt and cumin.
Going to try that today.
Looks American to me! Nice job!

Hoisin Sauce - Umami bomb!
So here’s what you do…
Marinate chicken breast in soy sauce a good couple hours or overnight.
Chop it into cubes, put them on skewers and grill until done.
Take an onion bun, paint one side with peanut sauce, the other with hoisin sauce. Stack up the chicken, top off with a slaw mixture, green and purple cabbage, shredded carrots.
Top all that off with sweet chili sauce. Put the top bun on and enjoy!

Oh yeah, that’s a fancy prep step, I’d need a better bread slicer too!

I heard a story about an octopus escaping into a library and was found fumbling through the books.
I can only imagine if it comprehended what it was looking at… “Oh, crap, THAT’S what they use ink for!”

And they do all that with a CRIMINALLY short lifespan. 😟
https://octonation.com/octopus-lifespan/
“For example, the Common Octopus, Mimic Octopus, and Blue-Ringed Octopus live for around 12 – 18 months whereas the Giant Pacific Octopus can have a lifespan of 3-5 years!”

Oh, shit, there’s 7 more Epstiens?

I went to school with a girl who swore the Bible was written in English, not translated… 🙄

Jesus fuck that’s a big octopus!
Usually I see them because there’s a super flaky user who creates new accounts, makes a bunch of posts in a variety of groups, then self deletes their account for some reason orphaning their posts.
So I get to remove a bunch of otherwise worthwhile posts because the user killed their account. Not sure what they think they’re accomplishing.

Nah, rolls are a totally different recipe. 😉
I think it drops off after a week? Yours was created on the 8th, so sometime after the 15th?

You following me camera guy? 😉
Heat 1 cup of oil in a wok or other large pan.
Take 2 eggs, crack them in a glass and beat them with a fork.
Add a splash of lime juice, fish sauce, and a tablespoon of corn starch and beat it like it owes you money. The corn starch sticks otherwise.
Add whatever other ingredients you want.
When the oil is super hot, hold the glass of egg about a foot above the pan and pour it in slowly.
It will fry and expand into a giant, floating flower of eggy goodness the size of a dinner plate.
Flip it after a 30 to 60 seconds or so to get the other side.
Called a “Thai Omelette”.
