“I’d like to live just long enough to be there when they cut off your head and stick it on a pike as a warning to the next ten generations that some favors come with too high a price. I would look up at your lifeless eyes and wave like this. [gives a mockingly cheerful finger waggle] Can you and your associates arrange this for me, Mr. Morden?”

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's a movie that you were probably "too young" to see, when you first watched it, but you're glad you did?
2·6 months agoI missed your comment, so sorry for the late response. Actually I really enjoyed it. A reviewer on IMDB wrote: “One of the best British horror movies of the early 70s, and no, it’s NOT Hammer.” If you are a Doctor Who fan (Tom Baker era), The Master plays a priest in this movie.

0·7 months agoThe ending of A Boy and his Dog is what brings everything together in kind of a punchline sort of way. People that said they could not watch very long need to watch it in its entirety to appreciate the movie as a whole.
Is it a great movie? Hell no, but it is an interesting and slightly thought-provoking movie.
Who knows what future awaits us after society goes to shit. Survival would be number one. Think about what happened in 28 Days Later, or how social norms quickly break down in The Mist.
I’m tired and I hope I was succinct enough.
