How has UniFi not been suggested yet?

My dad was in the military, but I never heard the sorts of things from him that I do now. He has started saying the N word to try to get a rise out of me, thinks Trump is going to “fix” everything, and every time I talk to him on the phone, I can hear fascist talk radio in the background.

We have learned not to bring up politics with each other. The last time I challenged him on it, he said I was being disrespectful, but I don’t accept that. He just thought I was supposed to sit quietly and listen to crazy ranting.

I have learned that in general it’s best to change the subject if someone wants to talk politics who I know I don’t agree with. Most people have gotten the point. We still get along great! We just have polar opposite politics.

Now I know that some people would question why I remain friendly with those people. The answer is that we have more in common than not. Someday, when everyone finally comes to the conclusion that the powerful and foreign are manipulating our political discourse to sow discord, we will finally be at peace again.

Oh man, and based on my favorite distro.

It would be sick if the new ownership drives a whole alternative ecosystem to Windows/Mac, perhaps with a very user friendly Linux distribution and nice peripherals and other hardware to go with it. Maybe even a phone and private cloud service!

I can’t remember what it sounds like, will have to fire it up! My favorite was Shadowheart healing. There’s a perfect amount of reverb and echo on it. Everything just sounds…powerful.

I was also a little turned off by DOS2, mainly because it felt like every decision was hugely pivotal to the story outcome, and sometimes it was nearly impossible to get the “good” outcome. BG3 is more forgiving, but is similar. There are more cutscenes, the story is better, and the audio effects on casting spells actually helped my enjoyment a lot. Someone bought the game for me and I really didn’t think I would like it, 200 hours later I’m a big fan.

As a white man, it means nothing to me when someone uses my race against me. The historical context of oppression doesn’t accompany the insult. I am just so underwhelmed by most games these days that I’ve stopped buying them. I didn’t play BG3 until someone bought it for me as a gift, and then I really enjoyed the shit out of it. It probably made it even more fun that I didn’t plan to play it and had very low expectations. So I guess that’s part of the fun for me now - waiting for a sale or free game and hoping that it’s better than I imagine it to be.
