I’m not the op but Ill take a stab at their ask because I want something like this too.

The idea is to have a list of tasks which autopopulate based on their time since last completed. Those tasks do not have a schedule due date on them, but a recurrence interval. When the task is marked as complete the system will hide that task until the designated time has elapsed.

This means that when opening the app, you only see tasks that are “overdue” based on their interval coming back up. If I don’t complete the task today, it’s still there tomorrow. If I complete the task, it should not reappear until the interval is up, and that interval should not be dependent on the day the task was completed.

Example task; water plants every 7 days. I want the app to tell me exactly 7 days after I last completed the task that it’s time to water the plants, regardless of whether it took me 3 days to complete the task.

Would love to know if this exists already.

If I wanted to talk to NPCs at length I’d just type into a fucking chat bot. I play games to experience the developers story and vision, not endlessly prompt an npc.

But that’s one way it used to be, making connections that requires effort to engage with (calling, emailing, etc). If you want to give up the convenience of any particular online social network you have to do the work to foster those relationships differently.

Give your email out to people. Ask for theirs. Send the emails. Call them if they give you their number.

By selling advertiser space via their website and newsletter they encourage people to sign up for. Both are setup to profit from these recommendations, especially the one in the OP. I’m not suggesting these aren’t useful sites, but that there are financial motivations at play as well

Totally agree it’s a privacy nightmare but you discredit the service too much. There’s a reason it’s widely adopted the way it is, and it’s not because it’s the same as everything else.

Fwiw they’re just collecting a paycheck. Sure it’s scummy for them to not reject the businesses offering them the money but tbh I really don’t blame them - I’d probably take the cash too.

Depending on the channel size sponsored ad reads can deliver upwards of multiple thousand per video for the creator. If you see multiple channels with the same ads, it’s bc the company advertising got a big budget approved, that’s it.

Imo just skip the ad reads (or get sponsorblock) and forget they exist. Usually the creator doesn’t even give a fuck who’s paying them or why. They are victims of the system too, not maliciously peddling garbage. I do wish they didn’t have to peddle anything, but here we are.

Pretty sure folks are referring to streaming sites meaning like Netflix. The person you are responding to said “click and go” referring to services like YouTube and Hulu not sketchy “streaming” sites like what you are describing that require some hoops to go through to make sure.you don’t download a virus.

Fastmail supports aliases as well. I’m not sure how they are from a privacy side overall tho
