Right, this whole thread is about swearing with words that are perceived as too offensive to use nowadays. My context is about swearing without using offense words for my kids.

I tried swapping to the curses from Bluey personally.

I still really like “Aw, biscuits.” But I’ve been swearing for so long it’s hard to replace “dammit” in my vocabulary and also have been very active in making sure my oldest (8) knows that swearing is generally frowned upon in polite company, which I am not.

Edit: I’ve also find mild success in swapping in English swears with Spanish, Japanese, Rosharan, and Firefly swears. Gorram and Storm it live on in my speech. I also quite like “Damnation!” but that one’s a real swear word so it’s hard to use.

We just finished the majority of shopping and presents are so expensive nowadays.

Yeah that’s how we do it for the parents, in laws, and our siblings.

About how much did you budget for kids under 10 or so? Just curious more than anything.

I also really like Monk and Elsbeth. I like my procedural dramas as long as they have a wacky Sherlock type, I suppose.

Psych is always my go to cozy show.

When I was a kid, my sister and I would watch the Macy’s Day parade all morning while my mom cooked.

After that we would probably throw on some football games in the background (mom’s the sports fan in my family).

We would go see the aunts and uncles and my grandparents — either side, we rotated between maternal and paternal off and on — and hang out there for a few hours around 3-4.

One of my uncles fried a turkey when that came in vogue, and my mom would always make mashed potatoes, while my aunt would make Mac and cheese. There was also this pineapple casserole with cheezit crust. It sounds weird, but the sweet and salty and crunchy go well together. It’s kind of like classy stoner food haha.

We also had rolls. They were these flaky layered rolls that I love a lot still. I recall peeling them apart layer by layer to eat them. So good.

I can try and remember more stuff, but that’s mainly it. We had more dishes, but they were like green bean casserole and stuff, so kid-Minions doesn’t associate that with Thanksgiving so much. I eat my veggies now, though.

I often donate plasma. Sometimes while stressed I will start to unclench and clench my fist as if I’m donating.

I’d gladly have a minimum hourly wage from Uber while I’m online instead.

I’ve done Uber Eats.

Generally the only thing I ever judged people on is getting shafted on a tip when I know their house was worth over a million dollars.

There is basically fluid in your ear that your brain uses to keep its balance. When the fluid movement doesn’t match with what your eyes see you get dizzy.

In severe or prolonged cases this causes nausea in some people.
