Weather true or not, I think that in the coming years, several billion people will suddenly have the chance to discuss these things with AI, and scrutinize all facets of the current scientific body. I predict that all fields will be disrupted, and shake all former intuition and certainty about current quality of our models. New ideas and papers inspired by this is already popping up, and it will get more and more intrusive until a new knowledge paradigm emerges.

If you want to avoid that, then you should actually move to China or Iran, and use their national services outside of 3-letter integrated meta/twatter/alphabet and the rest of the US/western informations-sphere, incl msm. US/the West are the most information controlled population in the world - and exposed to most censorship, surveillance and propaganda. You’ll be a lot safer in Iran/China…

Pretty interesting, but I think that they need to also focus on brainwaves, instead of primarily direct neuron connectivity. I think information distribution/processing is spread over all communication channels/pathways, like neurons2neurons, hormones/chems, em waves and so on. I never pay Capitalist corps/people unless pressured to a corner (most groceries, loans etc). I know they cheat, steal and lie - pretty much 24/7 - as their ‘free market’ gospel dictates, so any support for such a selfish/psychopathic organization are like shooting my self in the foot.

Intellectual ‘property’ is a special anti-intellectual joke that have emerged inside an existing Capitalist dystopia where everyone have to fight everyone else for their lives. So suddenly, some Capitalist smuck could whistle a tune, declare that sequence of sounds as “MY PROPERTY” and then - through violence! - everyone around the world have to pay this moron for the sequence of sounds. It doesn’t get much more dumb than that. We even see cities ‘protect’ their landmarks, so a f’ing photo is illegal without paying up, copyright for well known everyday things, and so on. It is incredibly easy to find insane examples. It’s all a race to the bottom, sigh… Oc, Capitalism have zero to do with ‘free markets’, and everything to do with warring/exploitation/protectionism - but all corps will always exploit.

Unfortunately, Capitalism runs on pure scarcity, so we can’t have surplus objects that can just be copied, tsk tsk, what disorder !! And of cause, if one lives in such a crappy backwards society, then everyone HAVE to fight for data that can be copyrighted, data that could otherwise be copied a gazillion times for everyones joy. So, Instead of free access to all that can be freely copied/enjoyed, we have capitalist silo’s of ‘property’, where everyone are forced to pay up to a conglomerate of capitalist cancer-like entities that will go to any length - even jailing people that refuse that violent/ridiculous property nonsense. No no, for propertarians, it’s better to slam everyone in the world with laws/threats of harm, to invade peoples privacy, and to have a whole multi-trillion business market, and an insane amount of law resources constantly working to keep this joke of a principle running. Just label things broadly with ‘Capitalist Slop’ - and have a set of standard tools to get rid of that harmful religion. I have not tested it, but Zluda are are drop-in cuda replacement for non-nvidia gpus. The speed should be great. You could check if your goto card is supported…

A backup drive ? dotfiles (.config) ? /tmp /var/log /boot ? map it into your home for something temporary - Downloads ? Slow audio files ? If you like to tinker for fun: btrfs / bcachefs could perhaps utilize it for something, like automatically offloading unused/slow files to the slow usb ? Raid ? ;) Create a partition and let zram swap compressed unused memory pages to the usb partition (I think it keeps pages compressed now ?). You can also run ‘usb over ethernet’, so another machine can use it directly - not sure why tho ;)

On a side note. I still use one of my first usb 1.? drives with 32mb in my old router. 32mb is still 12mb more than my first hard drive, and it fits well with the small openwrt packages. It even has a little slide button to select ‘floppy drive’ mode and a physical ‘readonly’ mode. I wonder what the smallest/oldest usb stick people still use, are ?

Groq.com once claimed that they didn’t collect data from the free service, but I just checked their privacy rules, and they have now learned the proper Capitalist virtue of surveilling their users and sell their data. Perhaps one of the other fast npu endpoints, cerberus, or sambanova, that are not directly focused on selling data ?

Alternatively, pick free Chinese AI services ? I guess the data they can accumulate are pretty useless to them unless you buy much over there, but not sure to be honest.

Maybe a vpn and gpt4free ? Someone can see and train on your messages alright, but they don’t know who. This gives different models each time, so maybe not cool.

Something like aihorde maybe okay. Your messages are openly processed elsewhere, but you are not likely to be tracked. There’s a lot of personal chat models available. It afaik still requires a ‘small’ nvidia card to join in. Vpn could help anonymity.
