Gonna be a run day at work today

Oh shit nice.

For $400 I’d expect the saucer section to be detachable.

In all fairness, you’d probably want to have overrides in case of emergency.
“Sorry captain, I can’t stop the warp core from exploding, nor can I eject it because we’re all turning into space lizards on account from the virus the away team picked up” is not a situation they want to find themselves in.
The cardasians being enemies with the Federation means they’d probably have spies working on finding those overrides.
Granted they didn’t explain any of that, and it is 99.99% just lazy writing. But there could still be realistic in universe explanations.

Yeah, I saw that around. It looks really fucking cool, but it still relies on a proprietary print head IIRC.
I don’t want to be perfectionist, it is a good step in the right direction, so I do still appreciate the project. I especially appreciate that it uses paper rolls instead.

There is not a day that goes by that I don’t wish open source 2d printers where technically easy to make.

My parents have always been conservative, to the point where in high school I was very much the same because my dad would always play right wing radio on the drive to school.
I graduated high school and went to college, where I was no longer stuck in such an echo chamber, and I slowly stopped believing in that horseshit.
But my parents never left that bubble, and when Trump came around it got worse. We fought each other on it occasionally, but still had a relationship. Then Biden came, and things got slightly better. I was less anxious at the state of the world. I knew things were still fucked, but there was at least a glimmer of a shred of hope that the Trump era was fading, and at the very least it wasn’t something I had to immediately worry about.
Then the second Trump administration came, and our relationship fell apart. I was and am beyond pissed at them for voting at for an obvious nazi, among a number of other issues.
So we tried therapy for a bit, and it fell apart after about 2-3 months. So I was even more pissed off at them, and they were oblivious as to why I was pissed, despite explaining it to them numerous times. So now I’m low contact with them both.

Everything ends eventually. And given the average lifespan of a social media company, I wouldn’t say the odds are in their favor.
I wonder if the manual piss moving container on the IIS is specialized for the task or something they had to macguiver on the spot and just kinda kept using.
I fear my brain is spiced-air fried

Unfathomably based
I had an aneurysm trying to decipher what spiced air was.

Adobo

Oof

Definitely going to be trying for some kind of linux phone for my next one.
Debating biting the bullet on the ~$800 cost of a fairphone.

Very neat. Though I wish this kind of thing would be possible to do with open source components.

I hope so too. But the job market is fucked, especially for software development.

So it’s been a few weeks, and the result has been unfortunately anticlimactic.
So for starters, there was actually closer to 60 seats available, so somebody was either lying or mistaken about seat count by the time it got to my group.
Then, it also appears that the enforcement of it has been lagging. It seems my manager was one of a few who listened, and others did not.
On the bright side, they haven’t given us shit for leaving at lunch and working from home the remainder of the day. I’ve been doing so as much as possible because fuck contributing/being stuck in traffic. Though I’m sure they’ll close this partial loophole soon.
So it all just fucking sucks for no reason. Wooo
