Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What person can help me sort out the big picture of my life?
2·2 years agoI have a bachelors in psychology so was able to pick based on my understanding of approaches. I knew I didn’t want CBT, so went with an ACT psych instead. Mine is also a developmental psychologist so I knew they’d be more likely to understand neurodevelopmental disabilities than your average psychologist.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•You wake up and read that China decisively has moved in to unload it's military in Taiwan. What do you do?
31·2 years agoThis would likely mean my country’s (Australia) biggest trading partner going to war with our biggest ally (USA). We’re also close to this conflict geographically speaking so would likely play a key role in it. Honestly this conflict would really fuck our economy and make the entire region more unstable than it already is.
So I’d be quite concerned if this happened. It would destroy my country and be yet another reminder of how we are tied to the USA and will literally follow it to our own destruction.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do you like or dislike people in general? Why?
7·2 years agoI don’t dislike people. They just confuse and overwhelm me and this is incredibly exhausting.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What non political thing do you notice more from people of specific political groups?
221·2 years agoI’ve always felt like conservative people are more likely the type of people who walk their dogs off leash. Don’t tread on me extends to their pets

World News@lemmy.ml•Lawmaker from Germany’s AfD suspected of displaying Nazi symbols
221·2 years agoReally glad Germany has criminalised nazi symbols. I’m curious to see how this plays out in this situation. My country is in the early stages of banning nazi symbols and people keep coming up with the same shitty takes like “but I like it when nazis let me know who they are” and “why do we need to ban shit, people just shouldn’t be nazis”.
Me in Australia: finally something we’re ahead of everyone on
