The modified (Modi-fied?) offer of it now being optional is ridiculous. Keep protesting the policy my brothers and sisters.

One for us (who need to know what the experts do) to watch
Allowing you to meet meet people more like yourself!

When I was 6 by my older brother “The currents in currant buns are flies”. Didn’t believe him until I took a bite and felt the texture of the currant. Couldn’t eat them again until I was a teenager.

Have installed Shizuku and Canta on my two devices. Indeed simpler than my ‘old fashioned’ but trusted use of laptop and adb. Appears to do the same job and just as well.

I need to look at Canta. 4 years now with Sony device treated to some adb slimming plus RethinkDNS & firewall. Tempted by Libre OS or Fairphone 6. Can’t quite afford Pixel with GOS. Food for thought.

Hells-bells! I never even knew these things existed. I am very tempted. If I hadn’t already got used to an excellent camera and size of a slightly larger screen.

I a desperate to self host, but do not know how to code. I use Debian, installing what I need for work, music, photo editing. All very low level, but accessible to me and far better than Windows. Keeping fingers crossed for something accessible between the full “black belt” level user and, well, me.

TWO groups of conversation from this:
Public cameras recording our private lives recorded MUST be fully regulated and accountable. Private cameras slightly more tricky. I take the view that self hosting options are the best option. We need more devices that just work for the lay person. RING (and similar) should be considered a shit-show for privacy rights.

Everyone has their own use case, needs and preferences My thought is that you have the following options - not in any order as you will have your preferences
What did I do? On my Samsung tablet, I used Universal Android Debloater AND run RethinkDNS & Firewall. Not as good as Graphene, but cheap / free and 90% of the same.

Just to point out that you made the initial argument and commented a view without evidence. Now you ask someone who disagrees to give evidence?

Sorry to hear this, what a nightmare.
If your old Gmail account lives, my thought is to carry on using that with auto forwarding to a fresh Tuta account and see how that goes, using the fresh Tuta and copying to old Gmail for redundancy / fallback. Thats what I did

Thank you. I can’t inform a response, but your question is very helpful for me with limited / low level ideas and poised to jump to GOS.

Entirely accidentally. My clinical colleague had an “odd looking” laptop screen. It was Ubuntu. He’s a genius level clever lad, and after some questions, he helped me to set up dual boot on my windows machine. Within 5-months, that was an Ubuntu only machine. Now on Debian, still can’t do anything much more than basic with the terminal, but the roads led here very naturally.

There’s a mom joke here somewhere, which of us is brave enough to retort as such to the OP?

Let’s Search has been a little sub par recently. I use Mullvad browser with DDG search engine, on devices running VPN.

I’m starting to explore RethinkDNS. Any tips or directions on the subtleties would be brilliant please
Great idea, we have some slight difference in frequencies but probably worth trying if the sim cards allow international roaming without breaking the bank.
