Nerd of many hats.

One way to look at it is different standards - my mother-in-law, also somewhat old, wouldn’t be caught dead without makeup and hair, regardless of the reason. You assume she’s dressing for others. She’s dressing for both herself and how society use to be.
Can you elaborate on the various types of nerdcore? I find sub-sub-genre differences interesting. Atmoblack vs DSBM, for instance. I’m curious what the differences are.
Wheely fabric box? She was going to do laundry for 2 hours and he thought it was 2 weeks? Or is it something else?

Dammit. I loved Zahn over the past 30+ years and that’s a shame. I figured/expected better from him.
Yeah, just a bit concerned that this weakens things a bit.
How’s this differ from https://lemmy.world/c/comicstrips ?
For best novel: dang, one person has two?!

Sorry. I’m a horrible person and see the worst. Rise above and make it awesome! (Just don’t call the mods the krewe or something. ;)

Not the greatest name, let’s be honest here. You’re one K away.

TIL! Thanks! I’ve wondered why the F there are zero posts. That said, I’m on Lemmy.world and not constantly on my phone, so that’s not a good sign.

Deets? Telescope? Lens? Stacking software?

Out of the loop - what’s wrong with .world?

Sten is from the late 80s, Expendable from late 90s. :). And there’s a shaggy dog story in the Sten books that’s takes… 4 books, I think, to get the punchline. LOL.

Several books in the League of Peoples series (start with Expendable) have this. Festina Ramos is competent AF without going into Mary Sue territory.
The Sten series (Allan Cole & Chris Bunch, military-ish sci-fi) has a fantastically competent lead.

Nice review!

Odds are we already have: Mars, Venus both have had landers, and given that the protections from bringing bacteria are similar or worse than this lander, the only reason bacteria would not have survived is due to heating of the landers in atmosphere. IANARocketScientist.
Fortunately, we found this out now, before we drop a red hot lander through the ocean surface of one of the moons of (I can’t remember) which they suspect could have life

Chrisomes : died while under a month old.
That is the most obtuse way I’ve seen yet to say that the “global conveyor” of warm/cold water in the Atlantic, that moderates the weather and keeps the UK from being frozen solid, will likely collapse in the next 75 years. It’s an existential threat.
