For all the popularity they have for their comedic and science strips, they also put out some really good emotional ones.

Nobody needed to share that picture of bees making wax, either. 😩 We’ve all had our share of trauma from this post.
I don’t know why, but this grosses me out so much.

However, I can remember the one for my password manager, which has 30+ random character passwords for all my accounts.

11·3 months agoI’m aware, but usually people use something large and heavy as their example of the thing to be thrown, because they wouldn’t be able to throw it far. The short or non-existent throw distance acts as a metaphor for the lack of trust. For example, I wouldn’t trust Google farther than I can throw one of their servers. Those clowns are absolutely not to be trusted.

91·3 months agoI’ve been using Jellyfin on both the Fire Stick and Sheild for over 2 years and haven’t encountered any issues with transcoding, subtitles, or anything else. You just launch the app and everything just works. And I’ve got a couple of very non technical remote users who have been using it flawlessly.
I wouldn’t call those parts private if they’re just flaunting them all over the place for the world to see. They’re clearly very public parts.

3·3 months agoHopefully you’ll like it better this time around. I know VR preferences can be very subjective, so I can understand why it may not have worked for you. While I don’t know what specifically you didn’t like, I will say that on the performance and visual fidelity aspects of VR, they’ve done some good work over the last year or two. Improvements to the engine and things like DLSS in VR really help it run better.
Regarding the crafting and material collection, I have some good news. From your time with the game, you probably remember the difficulty options of Normal, Survival, Permadeath, and Creative. That last one eliminates all costs and penalties from the game, for people who just want to
Netflixwarp drive and chill. But, if you don’t want to make it too easy, they’ve since added a ton of granular difficulty controls, most of which are adjustable on the fly. You can make a game that’s otherwise normal, but eliminates crafting costs, if that’s your preference. You may already be familiar with the settings, but I mention it anyway because a surprising number of people I talk to about the game don’t know and have played the game for a long time without realizing they can adjust fine grained difficulty settings.

4·3 months agoCan confirm that this game in VR is ridiculously good. There arent really any limitations. Anything you can do in the standard mode, you can do in VR. It’s my favorite VR game to date. I love landing on some unknown world and just wandering around. The immersion is absurdly good.
