In more progressive circles I hear “all gender” being used, to be more inclusive. All gender square dancing, for an example in my neighborhood. All gender restrooms as well.

Mixed might be confusing as to what is mixed, and yes, it could mean race, but only if you are talking about people. No one is assuming in 2025 that the toilets are segregated by race.

“Mixed football “ might mean we are also going to play ultimate frisbee, at the same time, somehow.

Because historically educational opportunities were divided by gender? I think the stranger part is that the word evolved to mean mixed gender in any situation where it’s not expected, like the co-ed decon chamber (or locker room or football team) Don’t know how much education was going on in there.

They occasionally sell the Brussels sprouts on the stalk like that at the farmers market. I feel like some kind of vegetable wizard walking around with it.

Brussels sprouts, pineapple, asparagus, rice, peanuts, chocolate.

Same with nuts. Botanically, not a thing.

This is true of dogs. Cats haven’t really changed much through domestication, except for a few modern show breeds.
